Not so.

Hybridisation is regarded by some scientists as a valid way of determining
the relationships between populations of killies that may or may not
represent the same species. For example, many different species of
Nothobranchius will produce viable eggs when crossed and these may produce
F1 hybrids. If the two populations represent the same species then viability
will be retained through subsequent generations (F2, F3, etc). However, if
the two "populations" do, in fact, represent different species, then the
progeny will become non-viable in the F2, F3 or perhaps only in the F4
generations. Obviously, in an experiment such as this it is important to
keep track of, and to document, the viability in relation to the generation.
This is scientific method, not hybridisation for the sake of producing some
weird or different looking fish. Hybrids produced in this way are never
released into the hobby.

This thread was not really an argument but rather a discussion about
something that many people have an interest in.

If you stick with KillieTalk you will get a lot of information about keeping
and breeding killies but you should also appreciate that the interests of
killie keepers are broad so there will, inevitably, be subject matter
discussed here that will not be of particular interest to you, although it
will be to others.

Well, that is certainly debatable but I won't say any more for fear of
starting another discussion that you won't approve of.
