[Killietalk] California black worms

I found an interesting thing yesterday. I was cleaning out my Kryptolebias
marmoratus tank, which I keep quite brackish. I have a false floor in the
tank. Under the floor I found a lot of black worms, I haven't fed these in 3
months. They are alive and well. Are these worms brackish in nature?

Also if the respire through their tail how are these guys breathing as they
cannot reach the water surface.

When I have deliberately tried to breed these I have only ended up with
stinky messes but I was using freshwater.
