Re: [Killietalk] Northeast Weekend - A review
Karl, do the math. If you used to bring 20-30 pairs and
on average sold them for $10 a pair that would get you
$200 to $300. If there is a $1 charge per bag that is $20
to $30 leaving you $180 to $270. Yet you were provided
with access to hobbyists and a place to display and sell
your stock. That is the cost called "overhead". As you well
know a lot of effort goes into these shows and the club
sponsoring it does the work and pays the bills. It is not
the case that local clubs get rich on this. A lot of times it
is a break even situation and if there is to be any profit,
it is because the local club members busted their you
know whatses to get it organized so you could have a place
to vend your stock.
Of course if you want to stand on the street corner
and sell your stock you'll have to get some sort of vending
license issued by the city and have to collect and pay taxes.
I am looking forward to seeing you at WAKO because I'm
sure you'll have some interesting comments for me.
Erny
