Generally no. Many species such as Rachovia and coastal Simpsonichthys
tolerate some salt but in general they do not need it. They are not,
in my experiance, very sensitive to velvet.

Simpsonichthys zonatus or Gnatholebias? At 85 to 90°F both should be
ready to hatch in about 3 months! Maybe soon in the case of Simp.
zonatus.

Go see http://dkg.killi.org/killifische/cynolebias/index.php for the
old PDF "A Hobbyist's Guide to South American Annuals" by Roger
Brousseau. While you are at it why not got to
http://www.geocities.com/dr_rog/ and get the latest version! It has
very useful incubation tables.
