[Killietalk] How many tanks and what size do you usually dedicate to one pair/species

Well, I was directed here by Robert (Bobby) Ellermann who met me on a nonfish type forum and eventually sent me some fishes(X. montezumae 'Ivory mottled', live food, plants, and all kinds of cool stuff. Recently, I've gotten pretty interested in killifish(particularly nothobranchius which seem best suited for my moderately hard, ph 7.5 or so water). I was wondering, for each pair or species-I'm pretty sure some of you maintain large colonies or some :) need? This would include living quarters, and places for raising fry etc. etc.

I assume this would work well. Anything that seems overkill or lacking please point it out.

1 3 gallon or so tank to house the pair. Probably divided(or otherwise 2 of these) to prevent constant breeding and stress.

styro box incubator: For egg filled(or so we hope) peat

3 or so sweater boxes: Small ones which can be filled conveniently to 3 inches or so depth...for hatching and raising fry.

10 gallon tank: As the fry get older choice ones would be moved here to be grown out into juvies and then young breeders. Dunno if you could simply raise them in the sweaterboxes but I kind of doubt it and you would need a pretty efficient assembly line tactic.

Thanks!
