RE: [Killietalk] N & R good ole boy network.

Suzy said," "Good Ole' Boy Network". And in any
case, why have a
committee when the N&R seem to be showing up on the Internet or at shows ?

Every thing in the AKA is in the good ole boy, so pay your dues and work
your backside off for free for 20 - 40 years and maybe you can become part
of it. After you have been around long enough maybe you will turn it into
the Good Ole Person Network .

Brian,
I'm not sure if I got the answer to my questions, or maybe I didn't ask
them quite right. But you mentioned the N&R "Committee" was re-started by
"US" here in NWKillies, am I to take that
as the NWKillies "IS" the N&R Committee, and that was kind of my original
question. So if I were apart of NWKillies then would I automatically be part
of the N&R Committee and could trade with others within.
I don't currently belong to the AKA, but last month I went to a local
meeting in Wis., I believe
WAKO, which alot said pretty much described the hobby or themselves or both.
I had a real nice
time, and the people were great.
But, after seeing the AKA newsletter (BNL I think), and JAKA, I'm
having trouble finding any
really good reason. This brought up the N&R species which is how this came
to be.
IF, the N&R Committee is no more than the AKA members selling their
fish, then my concern
right away was it was sounding like a "Good Ole' Boy Network". And in any
case, why have a
committee when the N&R seem to be showing up on the Internet or at shows ?
At the meeting they weren't sure, but hadn't thought anything had been
listed for quite some time, again, what purpose is the "Committee" serving ?
I believe I saw 9 species in the WCW show listed as from the N&RSC and
a couple from the NWK, I'm assuming that would be NWKillies??. Since they
were entered, were they auctioned, and
if so, are they planning to be listed from the "Committee" anytime soon?
One final question. It seems my chances of getting New or Rare fish
would be greatly enhanced
if I were apart of the "Committee", from how you described the "Breeders
Network" Y/N ? And as
far as who is working with what, all I have to do is look on the Internet at
show results etc. So I
still see no real reason to join.

Jury's still out, thanks!

Suzy C.
