Hi Henry,
My tap water has a similar ph . I run it thru an RO unit that also has a 
demineralizer module on it. This takes the ph down to about 6.5. I then 
use a blend of my straight tap water and the  RO water to come up with 
the ph I want. Seems to work fine for me.
