Hi all. What's new with the BKA? quite a few things have been happening in
our online world recently, some good some bad. We're all looking forward to
the convention, and this year looks to be a good one.

Convention Announced for October 1st-3rd

The BKA annual convention line up has been announced, and certainly looks to
be a good one!
The principal lecturer is Dr. Brian Watters, who has two lectures

'Killifish of the Kruger National Park and Mozambique' and 'Killifish
species of Tanzania'

Dr. Watters has been kind enough to send some preview images over (beautiful
images too!) which are available until the convention at
http://www.bka.org.uk/BrianWatters.php

The second lecturer is our own David Baker, who will be discussing his
fascination with South American Annual species. This one also promises to be
unmissable.

There are also a couple workshops (at least one on fruit flies, and possibly
more) 2 fish auctions and the TERRIFIC fish show.

If you've never been to the BKA convention, come and check it out. Day
visitors are just as welcome as weekend visitors!

International visitors are more than welcome, and if you need help arranging

Website Problems
****************

The company hosting the BKA website has stopped trading. This has caused
some minor problems, and may result in some loss of service in the next few
weeks. Everything is on track to sort this out, and if all goes to plan you
will notice very little disruption

The BKA is proud to offer a number of new titles for sale through the BKA.
We have several CD roms, and the long awaited World of killies by Ruud
Wildekampe. You can find out about this book at

serious about killies you NEED this book.

Due to the Web problems we are experiencing (see above) we are UNABLE to

Winter Auction

After the recent successes of the Midland Charity Auctions Tim and Alan have
announced a Winter auction, on December 12th 2004. Guaranteed to be the last
auction of the year, and if you've been before you'll know its a fun day,
and raises money for charity!

46 members have their species listed. It is anonymous too, so come on help
us to keep track of those disappearing strains
