Re: [Killietalk] RE: Importations/affiliate clubs
Hi Leo;
Give it another try! Check the membership roster and see who all is within
driving range and send out an email. Bet there are at least 10 to 20
prospects within 150 miles of you. You apparently have two states to
squeeze members from!. Up in the Pittsburgh area we started PAKA. Have
three members from at least 100 miles from here, and have had visitors at
meetings from a lot further. We do try to meet about every month,
alternating homes but sometimes it just does not work out and we cancel.
Typically we have about 70% attendance of active members and that is about 8
people. I don't remember if you need a particular number of members, but I
don't think you even have to have regular meetings. If you want to meet
only a couple of times a year, it is still a lot of fun and closer than the
typical conventions and major fish events. Interim meetings could be via
web page or email, or even a chat room on the internet. Our membership is
almost all AKA member based, but not all of them breed killies. So what, we
are friends and have a lot of fun. With shipping a bit tougher than a few
years ago as a group you could get fish into the member home before the
meeting based on member want lists and save some postage.
