Re: [Killietalk] GPS meters
I would say Garmin, Magellan and Trimble all make fine products. The technology is really the same. And among handhelds, the accuracy is the same as well. At least that seems to be the 'pooled' concensus among my friends. You will find the prices go up preciptously with added features. This does not imply an increase in accuracy. Many offer screens with uploadable scanned maps, like USGS sheets; Not too useful in the 3rd world. One feature to look for for is the 'orienteering' ability to retrace steps. Could be really useful in unknown terrain with potential for getting lost.
I use Garmin and like it quite a lot.

Subject: [Killietalk] GPS meters
Im interested in buying a GPS (Global Positing System) unit for when I go
fish hunteing. Does anyone use anything like this? I would like to buy one
in the near future and would like to know which kind is the best and most
reliable.
Cheers!
