Just as information to those of you that are sending fish internationally.  
I have spend hours on the phone over the last 2 days trying to get my fish 
released by Fish and Wildlife. 

Thanks Tony and others for your help. 

The readers digest version is as follows. 

In order for me to get my fish back, I need to pay the $50 for the import 
permit and a fine of $150. for each species of fish that I was bringing into 
the country - 2 species plus freight.  That comes to $350.00 plus freight. 

Sounds like extortion to me! 

They are sending me a letter that gives me the option to pay the fines or to 
relinquish the fish. All I know is that I can't afford those fines. 

I just hope that they find a good home for the fish.  What a waste of life. 

I would have expected something like this from some 3rd world country where 
extortion is the name of the game, not from our own government.  Do they 
need the money that bad.  This is a fine example of a goverment gone bad.
