Re: [Killietalk] bulk foam source
Wright, I just found www.jonahsaquarium.com has tetra billi sponges
for $2.85 and the brillant, $3.84. Dunno how often they update their
pages. The ma and pa lfs where I trade had a couple of the billi filters
left and I cleaned them out. I've tried using the Hagen bio foam sponges
but they are not as sturdy as the Tetra ones: they are ribbed like the
brillant but will rip apart when I try to work them back on the uptubes,
the billi ones do not. Since I will be using several de Bruyn filters (built
3 now, need to build 3-4 more) I was hoping to find a safe, dark colored
sponge I could cut up and drill out for this.
Thanks, Al, for the advice on prewashing foam.
