I will not be raising fish at school, or home, next year.  This is due
to possible retirement, health issues, and demands from my part time
work ( I run a camp and nature center).  I have given other teachers 14
tanks and supplies.  I still have about 10 tanks  and gadzillions of
supplies, you all know how that stuff accumulates.  We also have the
smallest of the Jehmco pumps, what a fine piece of quiet equipment.  I
want to get rid of this stuff and start buying more books and items for
the Nature Center, and take the wife out to dinner a couple of times.
If you have any interest in aquiring some of this stuff, it is actually
a small fishroom, please contact me off list at

Wouldn't it be cool if some other elementary teacher wanted to start
doing fish at school?

In addition I just want to say how much I have enjoyed the killies at
school over the years.   The folks from the list have been patient and
kind to the kids and to myself.  Running a fishroom with 26 fishkeepers
has been a unique experience and we have been befriended by other
killiekeepers on many occasions.  While I will not be keeping more than
2 tanks at school next year, if I return, I suspect that I will return
to the killies sometime in the future.  It has been a very interesting
ride.
