Browsing KillieTalk or any other list server-fed streams of mail via a
WEB-MAIL-READER is like enjoying a pint of your favorite Ben & Jerry's
Ice Cream by looking at a b&w picture of it. 

I'm not surprised you find the experience less pleasurable than you
think it should be, but in my opinion you're pointing your finger at the
wrong part of the technology. 

As has been pointed out, Barry actually gave us the ability to use
forums, if we wanted to, quite a long time ago. The fact that KillieTalk
remains vibrant while the forums are largely inactive says a lot ...
that's people voting for what works best for them.
