Maran,

A. exigoideum is fairly easy to breed ... in fact I would consider it much easier than many of the so-called 'beginner's fish' (i.e., australe, some species of gardneri, etc.). I believe the name 'exigoideum' is due to its resemblance to A. exiguum, which is, in my estimate, a much more difficult species. That particular location (Ngoudoufola) seems to be fairly common out here on the West Coast. I have a pair, which, next to A. ottogartneri, A. sp. Oyo and A. gabunense marginatum, are the most prolific fish in my fishroom.
