Sorry to be late in chiming in. I was fishing in Canada for a few days. I use 
only 3/4 inch cheaper glass drills from 
http://www.artglass1.com/diamond-tools-drills.htm
They currently list for $13.95. I bought two and have drilled over 50 tanks 
without them getting dull. Incidentally I only caught lake trout and smallmouth 
bass both of which are not in season yet.
