[Killietalk] spinach in a blender for daphnia food?`

Hi,
I followed the discussion on putting duckweed in a blender as daphnia 
food... actually have been considering using frozen spinach instead, has 
anyone done this? Does it  foul the water? My duckweed goes to the LFS 
cichlid tank or in the garden. I kept a small culture of daphnia going 
all winter on powdered algae sold in capsules as a nutritional 
supplement and yeast but would like to use something better. I suspect 
the yeast fouls the water.
