MY male shows no indications of guarding the eggs, unless you count eating 
them as guarding. Mine are absolutely 100% egg scatterers in mops -- no nests no 
parental interest except snacks. Literally 100s of eggs per day from a trio 
in a six gallon tank with mops, Java Moss and Java Fern. Maybe I have a 
different subspecies. They are 2nd generation from some obtained from Mark Binkley at 
Jonahsaquarium.com
