Re: [Killietalk] Golden killies

eggs....:-/<<<<
Yeap, that was my exact thought, I think they would leave them alone (Cory's
ETC) parents?
I have many plants at all levels, Top level is water lettuce, i keep it in
the corner and out to about 4 inches.

Some old habits an old-timer taught me, twice as much filtration then called
for, loads of plants as they help to back up the filter and also give the
fish a more cmfortable exsitence and gives the aquarium a natural look you
can't get with fakes.
And lastly find fish that can tolerate the ph in your tap water, or you will
be chasing your tail trying to keep up with ph levels, most fish sold in
your locl fish stores are suited to the local water conditions, case in
point, my fish are mostly tetras, they do best in 6.8-6.6 ph, we have 7.2
steady, they love it and have mated.
Oh and for killies, i once had a snail problem , i had a two yr old golden,
he was large, whenever i got my hand in the tank he would follow me, as i
found snails i would crush them and offer them to him who would eat them
with great realish, funny thing was is after feeding him the ssnails he
would let me pet his side, then would turn so i could pet the other side,
don't know if it was some sort of strange bonding or if it just felt good. i
lost him to a disease that makes their back hump-up. too bad he was a good
fish. as fo them eating the young i really don't know,,,, they don't eat the
baby glass shrimp tht kame up part of the cleaning crew. they don't eat the
adult shrimp either. sometimes i wonder how much of the books i should
beleive3?? mark
