[Killietalk] mystery condition
Since the list has been pretty quiet, and Ron has set the tone for
discussing fish diseases (or at least fish 'afflictions') I thought I
would finally get around to asking about the following condition: I
have a hatch of Fp. spoorenbergi in which a few of the females show
dark blotches on the body. The pattern of these blotches if fairly
irregular, and they are not distributed evenly on both sides of the
body. They almost look like black ink stains. They don't seem to
affect the growth or vitality of the fish. Anyway, this may be
something normal, something that you have seen before, or something
with a simple explanation, but since I have never seen or heard of
it, I thought I would ask.
I have posted a few pictures of one of the fish at the following link:

The pictures are a little dark and out-of-focus, but hopefully they
will give you a sense of what I'm talking about.
Thanks.
