[Killietalk] List problems and Verizon
Glad to see the list back in the archives, as that's the only way that
we with verizon.net accounts have been getting it.
After a lot of frustrating discussion with Verizon Customer Support,
they appear to be treating this list and aquabid as SPAM sources and
bouncing all messages sent to Verizon.net customers. I was assured that
I could do nothing to stop them from being my net-nanny, and that the
list owners needs to take it up with them. I understand Ken Simolo did
that, some time ago, with no results at all.
I searched their web pages and found the following page:
http://makeashorterlink.com/?F2AD22EE7
Apparently they applied a spam filter to all accounts established after
7/13/2001, and didn't notify anyone! While Customer Support insisted
they don't block e-mails, my account was set, by default, to block all
spam e-mail, according to the above web page.
I reset it, and if my account at killietalk hasn't been cancelled again
due to the huge number of bounces, I will see this note in my regular in
box. Keep my fingers crossed, as answering archive posts was a super PITA.
Cheers,
Wright
PS. Should we call for a boycott of Verizon.net?
