I'm sure the Colorado group has plenty to do. But would there be willing
hands to do proxies?

One advantage of proxies is one doesn't get the confrontations and near (and
even genuine) fistfights which have occurred in real silent auctions. Kind
of a noisy ending to the silent auction.

I hope that it works well. A specialty group which used to do a silent
auction at the end of their show now does all conventional auctioning. They
discovered that once the novelty of such an auction wore off (even for a
great cause) that the passions that get the blood moving in a regular
auction proved a lot more lucrative and left fewer ruffled feathers. If the
Maiers' fund raiser becomes a regular at the nationals, that might be a
consideration.
