Doug,
A cheaper but similar alternative are the small glass or plastic bud tubes
they sell at floral - craft shops. They have a plastic cap with a small hole
in the center to insert the bud or, in our case a strand of yarn. I tape the
top of the bottle with either electric or scotch tape and thread a strand of
the mop through the hole in the cap and snap the cap on the bottle. Works
great @ 9 cents each ; )

Down here medicine vials are expensive, about $2.00 a vial.

One of the cheapest floats for mops (and one which should be increasingly
obvious to too many of us) was used by a show participant at the Michiana
show. Medicine vials (presumably previously soaked a bit in warm water)
snapped on to a couple of the mop threads worked great!

Duh! (The sound of an idea hitting home.)
