[Killietalk] Lighting for Script. cauveti

  An observation
I have three tanks of Script. cauveti Siramousaya.
Original pair in a 5 gallon, blackend on 3 sides, black gravel bottom,
male is about a year old, and finally colored up about 3 months ago, dark
blue almost black body, fins more toward the green side of blue.
Incandescent lighting
2nd tank clear sterlite tank, 6-9 months old, flourescent lighting, males
are slowly coloring up, bodies colored like the females with greenish tinged
fins.
3rd tank, 2 1/2 gallon, black on three sides, with black gravel bottom,
with half a dozen juveniles about 3 months old, 1/2 to 3/4 inch long, one of
which was just starting to get color on his fins. Flourescent lighting.
Over the weekend the bulb began to fail, so the tank was without lighting
other than room lighting until today, when I was able to purchase a new
bulb, a total of three days.
The three days without over head lighting produced stunning results. I
now have 3 WOW males, all have red bodies, fins and tails have fantastic
streaks of gardneri blue. Far more colorful than their father and their
older brothers.
