I gave up many years ago doing this because the end result may be OK, but it 
soon becomes unsightly due to scratches and it warps due to the hydrophilic 
nature of acrylic polymers. Polycarbonate would be better in this latter regard. 
Glass is much better, cheaper and easy to construct once you learn how to cut 
it.
