A heated room would make things easier and cheaper. How fast do tanks give
up or gain heat from/to air?
I may go with opaque acrylic dividers. We have a great plastics store here
that will pretty much fabricate anything I come up with, I'm still looking
for a slick way to affix them. Silicone will be the backup method. I'd like
to go with something that's permanent "on-demand".

Hello Robert, I have a divided twenty I use at times. I made the dividers
out of glass and used silicone to hold them on place. It made it into 5
small tanks. I put a sponge filter in each. My fish room is heated so I
don't worry about heating it. you might try a heater in each end
compartment. You know I just might try your idea with some australes.
