Re: [Killietalk] RE: Where have the killie gone? -- reprise
Up here in the city (San Francisco) I can't produce my Fp. Gardneri fast
enough for demand. I sell many fish retail a pair at a time at a good
price, or trade a bunch to the LFS for food and grow out tanks. IMHO that
species and similiar are great for hooking beginners on to our colorful, hot
wheels-esque fish. We also get to teach a little about killies each time we
move some on. (i.e. localities, care and breeding). A small percentage of
those who get these fish will end up in the AKA. To paraphrase Tip O'Niell;
all killinut growth is local. In other words, where keeping a type in the
hobby is concerned, each new home will be found retail, a pair or two at a
time.
Is there a one pager on the AKA and killifish that I could print out and
give to each proud new killi owner? Maybe a .pdf or such?
(Will, if you'd like to lay some extras off on me I'd be glad to find homes
up here and split any proceeds. I think the market up here is just a little
larger)
