Re: [Killietalk] "Where Have All The Killies Gone" they are right here!
Good discussion regarding new collections of killifish, folks. Apparently,
simply funding collecting trips does not solve the problem.
Maintaining and disseminating killifish is the challenge. Perhaps an AKA
setup somewhat on the order of the MKA group as an outlet for killifish would
prove helpful. Many of us have extra fish and would be willing to distribute
them, but listing in the Fish and Egg Listing takes months and LOTS of fish.
Actually, friends, there are lots of wonderful killifish species available
and widely dispersed. The difficult to breed species will become scarce and be
lost in many cases. Today most of us are able to find almost any species we
want by canvassing our friends and other affiliate clubs.
Relax and enjoy our wonderful hobby. Long live the AKA.
