I believe the chloramine is more stable at the boil and not volatile. In any

Bottom line is use a dechlorinator/ammonia scavenger (Amquel for example) or 
use a carbon filter. Amquel is not as fast as hypo (sodium thiosulfate), but 
after a few hours the chlorine and ammonia are reacted and no longer toxic. I 
worry more about me and the effects of chloramine, so I now only drink beer or 
water from a Brita filter pitcher.
