Well, the first two fills were done with an activated carbon that I got by
the pound from a large bag at the LFS (bow out of business). The store owner
called it "Ginger carbon" and the bag said Darco on it. After that ran out I
picked up two jars of Black Diamond in the member door prize at our local Aquarium
society. The price on the "Ginger carbon" was $7.00/lb and he recommended it
as just as good as Black Diamond, but cheaper. Of course you can't beat the
price of the door prize. Looking at That Fish Place, I guess, if I have to buy
any, I will get Activated Carbon 29 oz (Aq. Pharm.) or something like that.
