RE: [Killietalk] Heating question?
Tape heating does not work without a means to direct the heat into the
object you want heated. That's why flex heating is applied to the bottom of
cages with an insulated backing to prevent heat from escaping into the
shelving. I plan on using the tape around supply pipes which will be covered
with insulation. This will, I hope, prevent the loss of heat during the
transfere process. Sump heating may still be necessary and it might be
necessary to insulate the backs and bottoms of tanks in cold climates. I
don't have this problem but I do worry about temperature shock on my fry
racks.
