Almost all of my extra Aphyosemions and Fp. thrive in community tanks 
(including tanks with dwarf cichlids but not full sized cichlids). 
It is just not practical to breed them that way if there is more than 
one kind of killie in the tank.  The best male killifish I have seen 
have been in planted community tanks.  They are also much more active 
and interested in their surroundings.  I actually do not really 
appreciate my fish as much as I should until I see them in a tank 
like that.  I guess everyone's experiences are different.
