Re: [Killietalk] Flow thru systems

Hi Lee,
I'm thinking of adding a flow thru system at least on all the 2.5 gal. 5
gal and 10 gal racks. This would take care of 75% of all my tanks. I like
your idea of using the micro irrigation tubing and flow emmitters. My water
is also good enough right from the well for a once thru system. My
resistance to date has been drilling the tanks. How difficult is it? What
size hole/? I'm thinking a hole near the top in one of the sides and a
right angle bulkhead fitting.connected to a minimum sized drain line. Since
individual racks can be programmed to change at any time, the drain lines
need not be too big. For instance, I have one rack with (32) 10 gal tanks.
Using a separate drain line for it and 1gal/hr emitters, the drain line need
only be big enough to drain about 32 gal/hr. What size drain lines do you
use back to your main drain? I want to keep the whole system as compact as
possible as I have not a lot of room.
.................................thanks........................Ron . .
