I have had excellent luck with smaller fry such as the characins with a product
called "Resting Rotifers" from Florida Aqua-Farms. The way I did it was to
spawn in an established tank with lots of Java Moss. This would have a large
quantity of infusora in it already. The day I knew I had a spawn I would add a
small amount of the "Resting Rotifer" cysts to the tank. Following with the
scope I could see the Rotifers coming up, obviously feeding on the infusora
after about a week. At that point I started adding a few vinegar eels,
microworms, and BBS over then next week to ten days. The idea is a continuing
and overlapping range of fry food.

I have not yet tried the smaller Aphyobranchius species mainly because I have
been as yet not lucky enough to be at an auction where they where sold. I am
really looking forward to it. There where some at WAKO but alas I was
recovering from ACL/MCL replacement.

Peace
john
