Re: [Killietalk] Digital Camera and WCW

The issue of camera type really comes down to need, use, and finances.

There is no right answer ... only shades of correct, There are a few generalities which are still worth thinking about............... given a choice spend money on lenses not camera bodies................ lenses take pictures...........

If you are a fan of a specific camera, stay with it...............there are good products available from all manufacturers.

If you enjoy color pictures, you are looking at quality of about 150 dpi, that's all that most commercial machines can reproduce. If you are thinking about publishing, then 300 dpi images are what is generally considered the standard............

I think that one of the most common fault I see, is people settling on something that is overall a lot less quality than their equipment is capable of producing............. Fish have scales, and scales have depth and definition ..... If an image is a photo, then you should be able to count every scale and fin ray..................... otherwise you may have a picture..........

I shoot approximately 2 rolls ( or one roll of slides and a256 compact memory card) just about every week................ I have taken thousands of pictures but only a small percentage would I classify as photos.

Time, patience, and attention to the technical aspects of light and composition still are the foundation of photography............. digital or not.

Wrighti s correct I use Nikon digital SLR, because I had the Nikon lenses that were capable of high quality images......... macro lenses, well actually Nikon calls them micro lenses for some dumb reason.;..............

But Barry, my goal is to *have* the camera *in time for WCW*. I've already marked the calendar for the WCW. Plus, if you need a rambunctious auctioneer you need only just ask...

So, any recommendations?
