[Killietalk] flag fish: fry eaters?

I recently acquired some j. floridae to help with algae and because they're cool native killies.  I put them to work in my community tanks by pairs, and in one tank in particular I've noticed a drop in the survival of my Endler's fry.  Am I right in suspecting that the flag fish are probably to blame?   I'm planning to evict the large male (now about 2 1/2 inches, quite large enough to chow down on the baby livebearers), but should the smaller female (1 1/2 inches now) go too?  There's plenty of algae for them in the goldfish tank.....
