RE: [Killietalk] AKA members photo album quality

Lee, Bill, and Barry,

I think I realize why I'm seeing the images as being better on my
machine. The images on the aka site view slightly larger than the
"actual size" images that my photo software shows. When I enlarge the
images they look about the same as they do on the AKA site.

Sorry to cause a ruckus,

Chris

Lee, Bill, and Barry,

Thank you very much for the complements. My concern is that the aka
gallery pictures look much more pixilated than the < 50K pictures that I
uploaded. If I understand correctly the pictures on the aka site (not
the thumb nails), should look just like the "actual size" pictures that
I submit. They do not.

I have tried taking shots at low compression (high quality) and small
dimension (640x480)

The camera is a Minolta DiMAGE Z1

Lee,

Good luck with the Majitams. I hope you realize that they don't look
like that when lit from above. They still show lots of orange though,
and are very nice looking (just not quite as nice as they are in
pictures)

Bill, I will send you one of the pictures that I uploaded. Basically
all I edited was size. I brought them from 640 down to 400, without any
cropping.

Barry, I will send you one of the < 50K shots and let you judge if you
can see a difference in the image that I send and the one on the site.

Cheers, Happy New Year and thanks for the help,

Chris

Chris,
I cannot judge how the originals look, but given the memory
limitations,
yours look pretty good to me. I liked your A. bit. Majitam so much I
ordered
some fish from the classified ads. I take my pictures at 1600 x1200 and
scaled
them down without changing the resolution. They look the same on the web
as
they do here - which isn't great, but OK. Try uploading them without
changing
them first.
