Re: [Killietalk] Brine Shrimp Nets

Al,
We purchased a brine shrimp net from BSD and it is the same as you have now. I know the type you are talking about. I can't find them anywhere. We use a regular net, and line it with an old piece of cotton bed sheet. We make them about 6" X 6" and nest it in the net. Drain the shrimp in to it and then feed the fish. You can then take and rinse the piece of cloth out and hang it up to dry. Works great for us.

  Subject: [Killietalk] Brine Shrimp Nets

  Lee,

I recently purchased on of the brine shrimp nets from The Pet Place that
you recently gave a link for. The net was worthless for collecting
newly hatched shrimp as the holes in the mesh were much too large and
held back 0% of the shrimp. Us old timers are used to the type of net
which used to come with the San Franciso Bay brand plastic hatching bags
which we all used at the time. These nets were made with very high
density cloth almost like hankerchief material and they were excellent
in catching newly hatched shrimp. I looked on the BrineShrimp Direct
site figuring they of anyone should have a good net for shrimp
  collection...........
  http://brineshrimpdirect.com/brine-shrimp-direct-net.html

They dont mention who makes the net so possibly it too is a one of the
PennPlax models but they list it as for collecting freshly hatched shrimp.
