RE: [Killietalk] Grindal worm observation
Markus,
I'm sure I can pick up some coconut fiber at my local nursery. Since I
have more peat, I might just use that to clone the culture further (and
have three going).
I would like to try my hand at the white worms though. Maybe I could
purchase a starter from you at the next NWK meeting (... I met you at
the last meeting... I'm the new guy.)?
Mark

Mark
I use the coconut fiber for my grindals and have excellent success with
it!
I like the idea that any fiber that falls in the tank, wont really
affect
the ph too much, as long as there isn't too much for too long:) Like
anything organic, when it breaks down, it will leach various acids into
the
water and change the ph balance. Of course if your water has high values
in
alkalinity, you shouldn't notice to much of a swing if any at all! I
also
keep my white worms on the fiber as well. I have some coconut bedding if
you
need some.
