Re: [Killietalk] Fry with velvet

Yes Henry, I have lost Java moss to acriflavin, but only after several days.
Usually the Java moss made it if I got around to water changing the
acriflavin out.

The flubendazole might be better for that reason.

By the way, isn't there an anthelmintic in Discomed from Aquatronics (pink
package) and in Fluketabs ?

One of the purposes of the medicinal dyes seems to be to darken the water
and interfere with the photosynthesis going on in the velvet - thus robbing
it of one of it's energy sources. Turning off the tank lights and even using
masking tape to tape brown paper shopping bags (or several sheets of
newspaper) around the tank glass will help too.

You should see what some medicinal dyes do to hornwort within a matter of
minutes. ;)

All the best!
Scott

>. I have also heard of acriflavine, he said it works but it
would kill the plants I have in there (Java Moss) Do you guys think it will
work or should I try another medication?
