Re: [Killietalk] Drip rate on flow through systems?

I am still experimenting, but this is what is working for me. I have drip
emitters in various size tanks and fry containers. They are rated at specific
rates (which are not exact but sort of relative). I use them as follows:
0.5 gph used for shoeboxes or other 1-gallon or less containers
1.0 gph used for two and 2.5 gallon tanks
2.0 gph used for five-gallon tanks
4.0 gph used for tens and twenty gallon tanks.

I have a timer which turns the water on for 2 hours daily to these tanks.
I am currently doing it semi-manually because if I have it on to all 110 drip
emitters, there is insufficient water to get even distribution. I will
resolve that by building two separate supply systems, but that is still pending. I
have not lost any fry in this system. I did lose a batch of Cynopoecilus
melanotaenia fry two days ago, that I was trying to do water changes manually. I
never seem to do enough manually and the two hours daily is a definite
improvement.
