What really disturbs me is... this past week i visited a local pet shop
and saw balloon Belly Florida Flagfish. I dont know how they did it,
but they were balloon bellied fish... maybe they were runts or misformed
fish.. but they were large enough sized fish to be of breeding size and
they were in the same tank as regular flagfish.... sort of got me ticked
off.... But if they sell, i cant really say anything but just decide to
NOT buy any....

Oh they are not runts, they are available in significant quantity from Singapore........... Many tanshippers have already distributed them........ In discussions with killikeepers in ?Singapore, a few had them in their aquariums already......

Again, there is a picture of the fish and a normal flagfish in the Members Gallery of the AKA website................ One was sent along as a sample with an importation of other fish...................

There is little we can do but try to convince killie keepers that the original is just as beautiful and hope not get into the Florida waters..............Singapore raises large quantities of flagfish for the hobby ........... who knows which have been derived from attempts to establish the "balloon fish".
