Well, I have not measured them, but I can usually predict from the size of
the egg, which I have measured. The error in this comparison arises from the
effect of premature or delayed hatching. In either case the fry is smaller than
the potential size. The potential size is approximately as long as the
circumference of the egg. Since I have measured many egg diameters I have put together
a prediction chart, based strictly on the approximation that the maximum
length of the fry will be close to the circumference which I have calculated from
the diameter. Here is an abbreviated table.
