[Killietalk] Variability of species

Hi all,

If you ever doubted the need to be very careful with labeling and maintaining the natural variability of killies, I invite you to view a small album of images that I uploaded to the members gallery in my Photo albums.

The original wild fish were quite consistent, but then again, I was dealing with only a small group of 6 pair. As the F1 started to develop from this spawning of the group of 6 pair, there started to appear some very different color variability. Of course we have diet, etc to add to the color differences, but also the natural variability of some species.

The most variability that I have seen in F1 and wild fish were with Fundulopanchax arnoldi Ughelli ... since we had over 250 fish in a single collection arrive, the variability was amazing, and as the fish has been distributed and reproduced we are still seeing, radical variability............... wonderful.

Enjoy the images................
