[Killietalk] Flow-thru/Rec. Systems with Various sp. of Killifish
First off. I'm a newbie to killies, but not to keeping fish. I'm really
interested in annuals (both South American and African), and since I'm
in the process of putting together a fish room, I thought I'd do it
right. So, with lots of people having their fishrooms set up with
flow-through systems or recirculating systems, are various killifish
requirements so similar that you have no problem keeping any kind of
fish in your system? I wouldn't think that this is the case, but it
just begs to be asked. If this question has been answered before,
please direct me to the thread, or to where I can search the archives of
Killietalk. The best thought I can come up with is either to have each
tank have its own sponge filter, or to have half the rack on one
recirculating system, and have the other half on another (so I can set
up two different water parameter/types/etc.).
If anyone has any suggestions for set-ups, please let me know. I've
been reading the discussion on flow-thru fry boxes with interest, and
think that maintenance would be greatly reduced with this method, as
well as increased water quality.
TIA,
Mark
