Re: [Killietalk] Ways to keep humidity down
There are a lot of reasons to take care of this situation now, and your health is one of them. There are types of mold that can kill a person, Stachybotrys, that may be growing already in your fish room that you aren't aware about. there are countless stories of people moving in to a new house that looks clean and sterile on the outside but stachybotrys is growing under the rugs etc and people have died as a result. You may want to tear down the fish room and make sure it's sterilized before installing an air exchange; it's sorta like algae, you may not see it growing but it's could still be there... an air exchange would be highly recommended, it may seem expensive now but you'll be saving money in the long run by saving yourself from having to redo your fish room, health bills, etc etc... you may also want to see what types of mold-resistant paint you can find..
hope that gives ya some ideas.

My walls are starting to grow mold on them in the fish room!! Its not bad
yet but I can see major damage happening in a few years. I am thinking of
installing an air exchange system but I hear they are expencive. Does
anyone have any ideas for what to do?
