I am confused, not unusual for me. Antibiotics are only effective against bacteria not viruses, fungi or other pathogens. So, if this is mouth fungus, why use an antibiotic. There a lot of good reasons not to use an antibiotic indiscriminately.

Simple, Lee. 99% of all cases of "Mouth Fungus" are actually columnaris bacteria. It just *looks* like cottonmouth fungus. While antibiotics will sometimes work, they usually cause more problems than they cure, and salt (or salt plus a little acriflavin) with several water changes will work faster and better, IMHO.

It always has for me.
