[Killietalk] Mouth Fungus?

A couple of my fish seem to have mouth fungus.  Telltale white cotton like patches on their mouths.  I looked to the AKA guide, and it recommends treatment with chloromycetin or aureomycin.  Well, that's good to know, but I don't really have access to either.  I'm wondering if I could just use penicillin or another commonly available med??
