Re: [Killietalk] Re: Devils' Hole
No hard facts, Frank.
A new fence line was marked out well beyond the present one, and most of
the materials for building it were there on the ground near the old
parking lot. [You have to walk up from the main road, now, BTW.]
I have heard discussions of the vulnerability of the present setup to
vandalism (certainly true). Public viewing is high on some managers'
agendae but not on others.
Actually you cannot really see fish or habitat conditions from the
current viewing area, most of the time. Fortunately, the F&WL biologists
have always been generous with tours to a refuge, where they slide back
the covers and let us see *Cypr. diabolis* "up close and personal."

Hi Wright, Could you expound further on your comment that Devil's Hole will
be 100' farther away for the casual visitor next year. Are they moving the
fences back 100' ? There would be no sense in even visiting for a peek then, as
that small opening wouldn't even be visible. What is the reason and what is
the purpose?
