Re: [Killietalk] Interested in a camera

My best tele was lost on that trip to the desert last mother's day. It was a relic of the early days of video cameras, made by Sony. The model number eludes me, right now, but was something like "V1250." Basically any tele with a 58mm or larger thread will work, but all will vignette at wider-angle settings. You need a step-up or step-down ring to fit the 62mm camera threads. Vignetting is no problem if you want telephoto, as you don't use the wide end, anyway. Get the largest thread possible, but I have never seen a 62mm exact fit. You need an adapter ring, which usually makes vignetting worse.

Tiffen and Hoya make "Close-up" lenses. Get a set with 62mm threads and +1, +2 and +4 power to get a mix and match that handles any situation. Get them coated and in decent quality. Much of the junk sold on E-bay is just that -- junk. Stay with the big-name brands if you don't have any way to guess the quality.

Wright,

Could you point those of us with 770's to these lenses and adapter?
